Help · Bounties & applying
Find work, apply in 2 taps.
Bounties are the hero surface of Friendly. Earnings is the first problem and we built the rest of the product around solving it.
The bounty board
Tap Find work. The board lists three sections:
- Popular services — categories clients ask for most (logo design, development, video editing, etc.).
- Part-time — bounties priced hourly. Good for ongoing engagements.
- One-time work — fixed-price bounties for a discrete deliverable.
The search field at the top filters by keyword; the filter button opens skill / rate / location filters. Saved searches and a priority slot in matches are part of Pro.
The apply flow
- Open a bounty. You see the title, scope, the client's rating + verified status, the rate / fixed price, and the escrow held badge confirming funds are locked in.
- Tap Apply in 2 taps. Optionally add a short encrypted note — “match the bounty” auto-fills your rate to the bounty's. Send.
- The application goes into the client's queue. Your phone number is not shared at this point — they message you in-app.
Awarded — what happens next
When a client awards you the bounty, a private channel opens between you. Messages there are end-to-end encrypted; files are encrypted in transit and at rest. You do the work in that channel — calls, shared files, threads — without bouncing through email or other tools.
When you mark the work delivered and the client accepts, escrow clears to your wallet. The platform fee — 0% on your first 5 bounties (Free), 8% after on Free, or 3% on Pro — is shown on the bounty card before you apply. No surprises at payout.
Rate-matching tips
- Don't race-to-the-bottom. Bounties are matched to skills, not to lowest bid. A short note explaining one specific thing you'll do well beats a price war.
- If the bounty is fixed, accept the price or counter politely. If it's hourly, propose a realistic estimate.
- Ratings travel with your profile. Two five-star bounties cleared at fair rates are worth more than five rushed ones.
